During the Lunar New Year, it is a tradition for the younger generations to pay their respects at the houses of their elders. This year, it is a little special – we were handed our last red packets from the elders. As we did so, we took the opportunity to extend the invitation to attend our upcoming wedding.
This invitation card represented hours of work on Illustrator and the year of calligraphy practice. Initially, we had intended to press the cards at home with our letterpress machine, but we hit a huge hurdle and had to settle for gold foiling.
Overall, whilst I can still pick out the issues with the card, I have to constantly remind myself that this is as close to perfection as I would be able to get with our given time frame. This card is unique to us and it fits what I’ve been looking for. That makes me a really happy girl.
